July is National Ice Cream Month and we are kicking things off with our favorite frozen treats to beat the summer heat!
One of the first things my husband and I bought as a couple was a blender. He'd just moved to New Hampshire from Boston, and was getting acclimated to "country" life. He was amazed that people chatted with each other in the store checkout line, that neighbors waved to each other. He wondered how long it would be before he lost his accent and would be out tipping cows.
He assumed the role as bartender, and after combining the Baileys and ice cream, decided it needed a little "something". He found a partial box of Junior Mints leftover from a trip to the movies, and in they went. We both loved it, and when I asked him what he'd call it, he didn't hesitate- the Cowtipper.
For us, the amount of Baileys is perfect, but if you want it less strong, you can replace 4oz of it with whole milk. Thank you so much to Sue at Palatable Pastime for hosting the #IceCreamSocial! Be sure to go and visit all the other blogs via the links at the bottom of the post and see the amazing things they've come up with.

You had me at Bailey's! I could see enjoying this milkshake real soon!
ReplyDeleteWe keep the extra large bottle in our fridge at all times, it's hands down my favorite thing to drink.
DeleteWhat a cute story! My husband still wants to try to tip a cow and we've lived in a small-ish town our whole lives! These sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteSadly, he did finally lose his "Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting" accent, but he has never tipped a cow :)
DeleteYou had me at Baileys, lol. But I love the name and the story that goes with it!
ReplyDeleteAlmost all of my best stories start with Baileys! :)
DeleteLove the story! So cute! I'll have to use the milk, but it sounds so delish!
ReplyDeleteIf you are ok using an extract or flavoring, King Arthur Flour sells Lorann products and they do have an Irish cream. But it's a great shake either way :)
DeleteGreat idea to add those junior mints.....YUMMO. Love the name.
ReplyDeleteHe's great with flavor combos, I've bounced more than one idea off him and he's come up with something amazing.
DeleteNow, this has got me excited! Have the Bailey's and the ice cream, no just need to find the junior mints!
ReplyDeleteLove it - the Cowtipper! Sounds delicious.
