Nutmeg Belgian Waffles

We are big waffle fans here.   I'm always looking for something fun, something different, a little twist.   I found this recipe on tasteofhome.com.    I used whole milk, it's what we always have on hand.  I used my belgian waffle maker, and got 2 waffles.  Next time I'd double the recipe.    I love the nutmeg flavor, it worked well with some real NH maple syrup.    I plan on making these again for our Christmas Eve breakfast.   Thank you to James C for sharing your recipe  :)  Nutmeg Waffles Print With Image Without Image Yield: 2 Ingredients 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 egg -- lightly beaten 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon canola oil 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Butter and maple syrup -- optional Instructions In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutm...

Basil Garlic Bread

Things are getting hectic around here.   We close on the new house a week from tomorrow, and I've got boxes everywhere and a to do list a mile long.  I've packed half the kitchen, and the challenge has been to make meals only using what I haven't packed.    We've been eating a lot of pasta, and usually we'd eat that with store bought Texas Toast.    I found this recipe in the new Simple & Delicious cookbook , and it was perfect for using up some French Dinner rolls. I used dried parsley and basil because it's what I had on hand.  Very fast dish to put together and everyone loved it. Thank you so much Stephanie M for sharing your recipe!
