    Stove Top Stuffing Waffles

We've really enjoyed the Rosemary Orange Roasted Turkey I made earlier this week.   We ate it the traditional way.    I had it as Thanksgiving in a sandwich (toasted buttered bread, spread with cranberry sauce, layered with stuffing and turkey).

Today I was looking for a different way to serve the last of it up and while surfing Pinterest I saw stuffing waffles. My family likes Stove Top, turkey flavor.  I prepare the stuffing with chicken stock instead of the water and 3/4 of a stick of butter.

I preheated my Presto Flipside Belgian waffle iron.    I fluffed the stuffing with a fork and added a beaten egg.    I sprayed the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and then added half of the stuffing.   It cooked crispy in approximately 8 mins.  Repeat with the remaining stuffing.

Top the waffles with sliced turkey, cranberry sauce and gravy (if desired).   They're great with maple syrup too.

    Ingredients

    • 1 box Stove Top Stuffing, turkey flavor
    • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
    • 3/4 stick butter
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • Nonstick spray
    • Leftover turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy or maple syrup

    Instructions

    1. Heat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
    2. Make stuffing according to package directions, using broth instead of water and 3/4 of a stick of butter. Let cool slightly. Add egg. Spray waffle iron with non stick spray and add 1/4 of the stuffing. Close lid and bake for about 4 to 5 mins or until waffle is crispy on the outside.
    3. Move to plate and top with sliced turkey, cranberry sauce and gravy or maple syrup if desired.
    • I keep the waffles warm in a 200 degree oven on a sheet pan while I make them all so that we can eat at the same time.

I'm a huge fan of the Dunkin Donuts Power Breakfast sandwich, so when I started seeing ads for the new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites I stopped in and gave them a try.  They were delicious, but of course, I knew I could make them at home.

    Stuffed Waffles

I wasn't sure I was going to blog these stuffed waffles since it was the first time I tried using the new iron but since I'd already taken the pics as I went I figured, why not? They aren't perfect but they are delicious!

Since I already came up with a version of Dunkin Donuts new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites for myself, I decided to make the other variety that they are offering, Bacon & Cheddar, for my husband.
