    Jack Daniel's Blackberry Steak Tips

We've got a diner in town that serves Jack Daniel's Blackberry Steak tips that Tim absolutely loves.    They are only open limited hours and it's always a long wait, which can be difficult with Jake.  I ran across this recipe earlier this year and squirreled it away until we could get some blackberries at a reasonable price.

I made up a half batch of the sauce and stuck it in the freezer.  I defrosted it on Thursday, bought the sirloin tips yesterday and marinated them overnight in it.  I reserved half for basting, but it turns out it didn't need it.

We preheated the grill to high on all 3 burners, then brushed the grates with oil and turned off the middle burner.  Cooked them over that indirect heat to our desired doneness   I'd have preferred them with a little bit of a crispier exterior, but that's easily fixable next time.  Not the most photogenic dish and I was hungry and in no mood to play with it   :)

    Author:

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cups cider vinegar
    • 2 cups ketchup
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 3/4 lb. blackberries -- fresh or frozen
    • 1/4 cup Jack Daniels or other bourbon
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 tablespoons yellow mustard
    • 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt

    Instructions:

    1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook on low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    2. Process in a blender or food processor until consistency is smooth. (I used the Blendtec and no seeds remained- if your blender or food processor leaves seeds, you may want to sieve them out)

Copycat Dunkin Donuts Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites

I'm a huge fan of the Dunkin Donuts Power Breakfast sandwich, so when I started seeing ads for the new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites I stopped in and gave them a try.  They were delicious, but of course, I knew I could make them at home.

    Stuffed Waffles

I wasn't sure I was going to blog these stuffed waffles since it was the first time I tried using the new iron but since I'd already taken the pics as I went I figured, why not? They aren't perfect but they are delicious!

Copycat Dunkin Donuts Bacon and Cheddar Omelet Bites

Since I already came up with a version of Dunkin Donuts new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites for myself, I decided to make the other variety that they are offering, Bacon & Cheddar, for my husband.
